Hong Kong Fits Gregory Stanton's 10-Stage-Genocide Model. 香港種族滅絕十級跳 By Chapman Chen, HKBNews

Summary: The human rights situation of Hong Kong ever since the HK Time Revolution was triggered by the Extradition Law in early June roughly fits the ten-stage-genocide model of Prof. Gregory Stanton, Founder of Genocide Watch cum former President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars. Apparently, China aims at eventually exterminating all true Hongkongers and replacing them with colonizing migrants from China.

The 10 stages include classification (e.g. net commentators hired by Beijing call HK dissidents Vietnamese barbarians), symbolization (Hongkongers are divided into yellow ribbons and blue ribbons; black-clad protesters and white-clad patriots), discrimination (dissidents are fired by organizations like Cathay, TVB, metro corporation, accounting firms, etc.), dehumanization (dissidents are called cockroaches by the authorities), organization (thugs are paid off to attack protesters and even passers-by), polarization (HK chief executive Carrie Lam asks people to dissociate from rioters and Beijing claims that HK dissidents are paid off by the USA), preparation (HK police and Beijing assert that HK protests smack of terrorism and Carrie Lam is prepared to call in the PLA), persecution (almost 2400 protesters have been arrested; an old concentration camp has been used and a new one is being built to torture protesters), extermination (police have shot civilians indiscriminately in the head, have used live rounds on teenagers; numerous youngsters have been brutally beaten up, and arrested/kidnapped by the police; there have been many mysterious "suicides"), denial (the HK Police, with Carrie Lam's and Beijing's full support, always claims that they use the minimum force necessary to subdue protesters).

Solutions

Stanton thinks that in case of a genocide, "the UN should impose arms embargoes on governments and citizens of countries involved in genocidal massacres." A Genocide Emergency must be declared. If the political will of the great powers, regional alliances, or the U.N. Security Council can be mobilized, armed international intervention should be prepared, or heavy assistance provided to the victim group to prepare for its self-defense. Humanitarian assistance should be organized by the U.N. and private relief groups for the inevitable tide of refugees to come....The response to denial is punishment by an international tribunal or national courts." [But the UN Commission on Human Rights is controlled by China and Russia, so much so that President Trump has pulled the USA from it.]

1. Classification (Distinguishing people into "they" and "us"):

Internet commentators hired by the CCP allege that Hong Kong dissidents, e.g., Joshua Wong and Denise Ho, are barbarian offspring of Vietnamese boat refugees.

2. Symbolization (Distinguishing people by colors or dress or other symbols):

The CCP and the Nazi Hong Kong police target Hongkongers clad in black and/or wearing a mask. Hongkongers are also divided into yellow ribbons (anti-CCP) and blue ribbons (pro-CCP).

3. DISCRIMINATION (A dominant group uses law, custom, and political power to deny the rights of other groups) :

Just as Nazi Germany excluded the Jews from civil service, and professions like medicine, media and art, law and farm ownership, Cathay and other Hong Kong airlines have outsed staff supporting the anti-extradition-law movement; the Hong Kong Bank has forced senior staff like John Flint to resign; Hong Kong accounting firms, TVB and the HK metro corporation have fired staff with dissident opinions; and the Hong Kong Department of Justice has queried the eligibility of an intern-lawyer on the ground that he has condemned police brutality on Facebook.

4. DEHUMANIZATION (One group denies the humanity of the other group. Members of it are equated with animals, vermin, insects or diseases):

Just as Nazi Germany used to call the Jews rats, Nazi China and Nazi Hong Kong authorities, and Hong Kong Police call Hong Kong dissidents cockroaches.

5. ORGANIZATION: (Genocide is always organized, usually by the state, often using militias to provide deniability of state responsibility. Special army units or militias are often trained and armed. Plans are made for genocidal killings.)

Thugs are believably hired by the Hong Kong and China authorities to attack Hongkongers. For example, on July 21, around 1000 white-clad thugs armed with iron bars and wooden rods indiscriminately assaulted Hongkongers inside and outside the Yuen Long train station, including a pregnant woman, a chef going home from work, a few journalists, and lawmaker Lam Cheuk Ting, while the police looked on. The night may be compared to Kristallnacht on which Nazi storm troopers and Hitler Youth ruthlessly attacked Jews and their homes.

Another instance. On Oct. 6, a pro-CCP taxi driver plunged his vehicle into a protesters' crowd and knocked over at least two women, disabling the legs of one of them permanently. Subsequently, the badly injured woman was arrested for unlawful assembly while the culprit was rewarded with USD20,000.

The Special Tactical Unit and riot police have received anti-terrorism training in China. They are particularly atrocious in dealing with protesters and even passers-by. Many Hongkongers believe China police and PLA soldiers are imbedded with them, for they have been heard speaking Putonghua, and there are videos and photos showing PLA members stationed in HK changing into HK Police uniform.

6. POLARIZATION (Hate groups broadcast polarizing propaganda):

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam appealed on Oct 5 to the public to condemn protest violence and disassociate themselves from rioters.)

According to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the driving force behind these acts of defiance was not the determination of Hong Kongers to protect their own legal system and rights but “foreign interference” by hostile governments. China’s Foreign Ministry even released a statement (in Chinese) directly blaming Western media for inciting foreign governments to interfere. Chinese state media like Global Times has been putting out numerous articles warning against “powerful influence from foreign forces” while accusing the “Hong Kong opposition” of being “hand in glove with the United States.” Even Hong Kong’s only representative to China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee referred to protesters as “pawns”.

7. PREPARATION (National or perpetrator group leaders plan the “Final Solution” to the targeted group “question.” They often use euphemisms to cloak their intentions, such as referring to their goals as “counter-terrorism.” They build armies, buy weapons and train their troops and militias. They indoctrinate the populace with fear of the victim group. Leaders often claim that “if we don’t kill them, they will kill us.”) :

Beijing’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office (HKMAO), under the State Council, warned on August 12 that anti-government protesters in Hong Kong were showing “signs of terrorism”. On Oct. 5, Carrie Lam vowed to "stop the violence and end the revolt."

On Oct. 8, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam warns of military crackdown from China, claiming Beijing WILL step in if anti-government unrest gets worse

8. PERSECUTION (Victims are identified and separated out. Sometimes they are even segregated into ghettoes, deported into concentration camps. Genocidal massacres begin) :

From June through early October, the HK police has arrested more than 2300 Hong Kong dissidents and fired thousands of tear gas canisters, hundreds of rubber bullets and bean bag shots and even a few live rounds.

The HK Police has set up a concentration camps in San Uk Ling on the border between HK and China to detain dissidents, including men, women, and children, many of whom are tortured until their bones break. Young male and female protesters are even stripped naked and gang-raped. Sonia Ng, a survivor of the concentration camp cum a student of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a few of her schoolmates, complained about this to the university's Vice-Chancellor Rocky Tuan on Oct 10. To replace the San Uk Ling camp, which is now exposed, the Hong Kong Government is building in Kong Nga Po a huge concentration camp modeled on Xinjiang concentration camps.

9. EXTERMINATION (It is “extermination” or mass killing to the killers because they do not believe their victims to be fully human. When it is sponsored by the state, the armed forces often work with militias to do the killing):

Since June 12, the HK police have been trying to beat up and shot civilians indiscriminately in the head. They have shot thousands of tear gas canisters containing excessive cyanide at journalists, lawmakers, passers-by and protesters, and on occasions into homes for the elderly, nurseries, residential buildings, and closed spaces like metro stations, effectively rendering them into gas chambers like those used by Nazi Germany to exterminate the Jews.

A September report from NGO Amnesty International says that Hong Kong police have used reckless tactics and retaliatory violence in their crackdown on protesters during the summer, resulting in injuries such as broken bones and internal bleeding. Nicholas Bequelin, East Asia director at Amnesty, said the abuses Amnesty recorded were in clear violation of international human rights law.

Many Hongkongers firmly believe that many of the recent "suicides" are indeed masquerades orchestrated by the police to cover up their murders of Hong Kong citizens (and their family to prevent divulgence of the murders). From June 12 through the end of July, the suicide rate per 10 days was just around 10. But from Aug 21 through Aug 31, after the sending of protesters arrested on Aug 11 to the notorious San Uk Ling Detention Centre, to which 6 Justices of Peace and 200 lawyers were denied access, it suddenly jumped to 18; and from Sept 1 thru Sept10, right after the Police's indiscriminate, violent assault on passengers inside Prince Edward MTR Station on Aug 31, the figure suddenly bounced to 28! Many of the cases are highly mysterious though the police would invariably announce that there is nothing suspicious. For instance, on Sept 14, the stark naked body of a "foreign" woman fell to the ground from high up a mansion in Wan Chai and allegedly broke in two, with very little blood around.

The HK Police seem to target Hong Kong children and teenagers in particular. Apparently, Nazi China wants to wipe out the entire younger generation of HK. Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung claims that 750 teenagers under 18 and 104 under 16 have been arrested since June but most citizens are convinced that the actual number is far larger.

On Oct 1, an 18-year-old protester armed with a plastic tube was shot in the chest with a live round by a riot policeman who aimed at his heart. On Oct 4, a plain-clothes cop ran a private car into a crowd in Yuen Long, got off and shot a 14-year-old boy in the thigh. The badly injured boy was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital, from which he was secretly taken away by the police on the early morning of Oct. 5.

Since September, according to the HK Police Force, around 40 percent of the arrested protesters are secondary and tertiary school students. Every night, any underage teenager or young girl walking in the streets may be taken away by police who would not show their police number.

10. DENIAL (The perpetrators of genocide dig up the mass graves, burn the bodies, try to cover up the evidence and intimidate the witnesses. They deny that they committed any crimes, and often blame what happened on the victims.) :

The HK Police Force invariably dismisses any accusation of police brutality as malicious bad-mouthing and always insists that they use the minimum physical force in police-civilian conflicts. Indeed, while Police in Hong Kong have been criticised for how they have handled the protests, Liu Xiaoming, China's ambassador to the UK since 2009, told Sky News on Oct 2 that the fault lay with the protesters.
