How the Vegan Christ Heals Mary Magdalene (I): Hands-on Healing. Dr. Chapman Chen

Introduction: Around 25 AD, Mary Magdalene, afflicted by “seven demons”, and having heard of Jesus’ name as a rabbi who had cured many sick and possessed people, walked ten hard miles from her home in Magdala to Capernaum, in order to seek Jesus out and beg Him to save her. Jesus then cast the demons out (Mark 16:9), and healed Mary “of evil spirits and infirmities” (Luke 8:2). This was the beginning of a beautiful relationship and an everlasting bond..

In the first century, it was widely believed that demons were the cause of both physical and psychological illnesses (Kelly 2006, p. 95; Casey 2010, pp. 192–193; Ehrman 2006, pp. 206–207). In my interpretation, the “seven demons” symbolize bodily, mental, and spiritual ailments. Jesus must have cast them out from Mary by administering vegan hands-on healing to her, by lavishing a great deal of vegan love, empathy and understanding on her, by turning her vegan, and by passing secret, spiritual knowledge to her. In this article, we will focus on hands-on healing, a form of vegan energy therapy still practised by many spiritual practitioners today.

1. Hands-on Healing

While Jesus sometimes healed through spoken words alone, He often used physical touch as a way to demonstrate His compassion and divine power. This hands-on approach was significant, especially in cases where the sick were considered ritually unclean, as His touch broke social and religious taboos to restore both physical health and social dignity. Examples include:

1.1. Healing the Leper (Mark 1:40–42, Matthew 8:1–3, Luke 5:12–13)

A man with leprosy begged Jesus for healing. Instead of avoiding him (as was customary due to ritual impurity), Jesus touched him and said, "Be clean!" Immediately, the leprosy left him.

1.2. Healing Peter’s Mother-in-Law (Mark 1:30–31, Matt. 8:14–15, Luke 4:38–39)

Jesus took her by the hand, and the fever left her instantly.

1.3. Healing the Blind Man of Bethsaida (Mark 8:22–25)

Jesus spit on the man's eyes and laid His hands on him, gradually restoring his sight.

1.4. Healing the Deaf and Mute Man (Mark 7:32–35)

Jesus put His fingers into the man’s ears, spit, and touched his tongue, and the man was healed.

1.5. Healing the Woman with a Disabling Spirit (Luke 13:10–13)

Jesus laid His hands on her, and she was immediately healed from her infirmity.

1.6. Raising Jairus’ Daughter (Mark 5:22–24, 35–42, Matt. 9:18–25, Luke 8:40–56)

Jesus took her by the hand and told her to arise, bringing her back to life.

1.7.Conclusion

According to Dr. Simon Chau (2024), a Hong Kong translation scholar, vegan activist, and life coach, everyone can follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and practise hands-on healing. Rather than using their own energy, the practitioner should aim to channel power from the Supreme Consciousness or Heavenly Father, which is limitless. Indeed, hands-on healing is vegan, safe, free from side effects, and effective. No animal products are involved—unlike many allopathic medicines and even some traditional Chinese remedies, which are non-vegan.

Anyway, from the day Mary Magdalene was healed by Jesus, she followed Him everywhere until He was crucified, buried, and resurrected. In the next article, we will explore how Jesus healed Mary by way of love.
