“Never Has Abominable Flesh Come Into My Mouth!” By Ezekiel. Ed. Dr. Chapman Chen

So I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my mouth.” Ezekiel 4:14 KJV

Ezekiel, also spelled Ezechiel, was a significant prophet and priest in ancient Israel. He lived during the 6th century BCE and is known for his prophecies and visions, which are recorded in the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible. Ezekiel's ministry took place during the Babylonian captivity, a period when many Israelites were exiled to Babylon.

Ezekiel 4:14 is part of a larger passage where God instructs the prophet Ezekiel to perform a symbolic act to represent the coming siege of Jerusalem. In this verse, Ezekiel protests against God's command to bake his bread over human excrement, on the ground that he has never polluted himself with abominable animal flesh, nor with the corpse of an animal that died on his/her own or was torn by wild animals, let alone with human dung.

Ezekiel's protest highlights his adherence to the Vegan Law and his desire to remain pure. In response, God allows him to use cow dung instead of human excrement to bake his bread, symbolizing the severe conditions and defilement the Israelites would face during the siege.
