Pro-CCP Sen. Pastor Wouldn't Condemn HK Govt for Brutalizing HKers b/c "Paul never teaches that"

Updated: Dec 16, 2019

Pro-CCP Hong Kong Baptist Church (Caine) Sen. Pastor Benjamin Yeung Pak-mun, citing Romans 13: 1-14, 1 Peter 2: 13-14 & Acts 5:29, preaches that if a ruling regime is an obedient servant of God punishing evildoers and praising good people, then Christians have to be subject to it; but if it violates God's orders, like Nazi Germany which massacred Jews indiscriminately, the White South African Govt which jailed blacks unfairly, and the early Roman Empire which banned the spreading of the Good News, then Christians do not have to be subject to it (2019-12-1 sermon). When it comes to Hong Kong's current political situation, Rev. Yeung, however, says "the real world is not one of black and white. Paul in Romans never teaches us how to judge whether a govt is a good servant of God or not."

Comment: Apparently, the CCP which has caused the death of more than 70 million people, and put over 2 million Uyghurs in concentration camps, and which is closing down churches, jailing pastors and domesticating scripture, is worse than Nazi Germany, White South African Govt. and Roman Empire. But Rev. Yeung insists that he cannot tell if the Chinese authorities are good or evil on the ground that Paul has never taught him.

Moreover, the HK Communist Government since June has arrested and assaulted 6000 dissidents, incl. nearly 1000 children, invaded two universities, and fired over 10000 highly toxic tear gas canisters, turning the entire HK into an enormous gas chamber like those used by Hitler to exterminate the Jews. This govt also punishes innocent people and rewards evildoers. A pro-CCP taxi driver, who on Oct 6 rammed his vehicle into a crowd of protesters, permanently crippled both legs of a young lady, and injured two other persons, was rewarded with a bonus of HKD520,000 by a communist association. On July 21, HK's Kristallnacht, around 1000 Yuen Long mobsters ruthlessly assaulted with iron bars and wooden rods passengers inside and outside Yuen Long subway, while the police looked on. Again, Rev. Yeung fails to condemn the HK Government on the ground that Paul has never given relevant guidance.

Ref:

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God" (Romans 13: 1 KJV).

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil...4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." (Romans 13:3-4 KJV).

"Submit yourselves... unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well." (1 Peter 2:13-17 KJV).

" Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29 KJV).
