God is the creator of all. All animals belong to God, NOT to humans. God made a covenant with both humans and animals (Genesis 9:9). In becoming flesh (John 1:14), God breaks the boundaries among all sentient species and even the boundary between the creator and creation (cf. Clough 2012:103). Animals are therefore our sisters and brothers, our covenant partners.
The Turkish Parliament is debating a law to massacre almost all the 6 million stray animals in their country. And today (July 21) we spoke up for our animal siblings there, and protested outside The Turkish Embassy in London against this draconian law, which will lead to an animal holocaust all over the streets of Turkey. The event was organised by The Animal Save Movement UK.
